Senior Capital Markets Developer (3-6 month contract)

The Jonah Group is currently seeking a Sr. Developer for a 3 – 6 month contract to start in December or January. The ideal candidate will have capital markets, financial, and/or securities/trading industry experience.
The successful candidate will be situated at our clients’ site downtown Toronto and be will responsible for providing development, maintenance and technical application support. The incumbent will deal with requests from The Jonah Group’s project team as well as our client’s team members.
Summary:
- In an agile development team environment, conduct application development, enhancement and support in enterprise Java for portfolio management and analytics applications
- When needed, lead one or two staff members in larger initiatives
- Identify, track, manage, and resolve technical issues
- Ensure application systems are operating within established service levels
Requirements:
- 8+ years of development experience in Java, J2EE
- 3+ years experience working hands-on in a trading floor and/or capital markets business environment
- Proficient in development of enterprise web applications with Seam, RichFaces, EJB 3.0, Hibernate, MS SQL, Oracle, JBOSS, and Maven
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Hudson/Jenkins or Team City
- Experience with financial and data modeling
- Experience with C++ development an asset
- University degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Strong analysis and problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Must be a team player, able to work independently with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines
